Pumpkin Picking: The Meltdown
October 30th, 2007For the uninitiated, “The Meltdown” means this is a sequel. Here’s the original if you’d like to catch up.
It’s that time of year again. Time to head out to Wilkens Farm, enjoy some cider and donuts with friends, and be photographed next to large orange gourds. But, how can we make this year’s version as successful as last year’s blockbuster web post that thrilled the nation?
Popular returning characters? Check. Jake and Jen were there again this year, but like any good sequel, this one has some new characters to bring in the younger viewers.
How about some contrived conflict between previously harmonious characters? “Why can’t I touch the pumpkin?! You’re the one who smells like doody! Our friendship is over!”
Second Act doldrums. Could our two main characters really never see eye-to-eye again? But they got along so well in the previous film! Oh bitter malaise!
And simple, obvious resolution to the sound of the cheering multitudes…
“No, I love YOU more!”
Ship it, baby! That’s gold.
